Apple Crescents - a quick and delicious dessert, perfect for any occasion. This simple recipe will transform apples into delightful treats that melt in your mouth. It offers a perfect contrast between the flaky dough and the juicy apple filling, bringing a touch of warmth to every bite.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooling time: 3 hours
Baking time: 30-35 minutes
Total time: 3 hours and 50 minutes
Number of servings: 24 crescents

Ingredients for the dough:
- 250 g cold butter, diced
- 500 g flour
- 200 g sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 packet of baking powder

Ingredients for the filling:
- 4 medium apples, peeled and grated
- 100 g sugar (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 50 g ground walnuts (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For decoration:
- Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Preparation:

1. Start by preparing the dough. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold diced butter and mix with your fingers or a food processor until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.

2. In another bowl, beat the egg and sour cream together. Add this mixture to the flour and butter mixture. Mix quickly until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Do not knead too much to keep the flaky texture.

3. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. This step is essential as it allows the butter to harden, helping the dough become even flakier.

4. Meanwhile, prepare the apple filling. Grate the apples and mix them with the sugar, cinnamon, ground walnuts (if using), and lemon juice. The lemon will help preserve the color of the apples and add a touch of freshness. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes so the sugar can dissolve and form a natural syrup.

5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

6. After the dough has been in the refrigerator, take it out and divide it into 4 equal parts. Work with one part at a time, keeping the rest in the refrigerator to avoid warming up.

7. On a floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a disc about 3 mm thick. Cut the discs into 8 triangles.

8. Place a tablespoon of the apple filling at the base of each triangle and roll it tightly, starting from the base to the tip. Make sure the edge is well sealed to prevent it from opening during baking.

9. Place the crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden and crispy.

10. After baking, let them cool slightly, then sprinkle powdered sugar on top for an extra touch of sweetness and an attractive appearance.

Serving suggestion: These apple crescents are delicious both warm and cold. You can serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of sour cream for a contrast of flavor and texture.

Possible variations: Instead of apples, you can use caramelized pears or even a sweet cheese filling with raisins. Experimenting with different fruit combinations will always yield surprising results.

This apple crescent recipe is not only easy to make but also full of flavor, bringing a touch of nostalgia to every bite. Enjoy them with loved ones and cherish the moments spent together!
