Rolls
To prepare a delicious recipe for thin fried sheets, we will create a fine and aromatic dough, perfect for being pampered with flavors and textures. We start with the basic ingredients: we take 2 fresh eggs, which we will beat in a large bowl, gradually adding sugar to obtain a fluffy and homogeneous composition. It is essential to use fine sugar, which will dissolve more easily, resulting in a finer dough. We continue by incorporating 100 grams of soft margarine, which will add a velvety consistency to our dough.
After the margarine is well incorporated, we add 50 ml of oil, which will contribute to the flakiness of the sheets, and 100 ml of sparkling water, which will provide an airy and slightly crunchy texture. We do not forget to flavor the dough with vanilla and rum essences, each with a few drops, to give it an inviting aroma.
Now, the next step is to add the flour, but as much as needed. It is important to add the flour gradually, mixing continuously, until we obtain an elastic dough that no longer sticks to the hands. After the dough is ready, we cover it with a clean towel and let it rise for about 30 minutes, to relax and become easier to roll out.
After the dough has risen, we prepare to roll out thin sheets. We use a rolling pin to obtain a sheet as even as possible, with a thickness of about 2 mm. After the sheet is rolled out, we cut it into thin strips, about 1 cm wide. These strips will then be wrapped around wooden sticks, about the thickness of a finger, forming appetizing spirals.
In a deep frying pan, we heat enough oil to completely cover our spirals. When the oil is well heated, we start frying the spirals, being careful to turn them to brown evenly on all sides. Once they have taken on a golden hue, we remove them onto a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
These thin fried sheets are ideal to be served as an appetizer or dessert, sprinkled with powdered sugar or alongside a flavorful jam. Enjoy every bite!
