Steak with sour cream sauce
To prepare a delicious dish with marinated meat, we start by making the marinade. In a large bowl, we add cold water, a splash of white wine, which will enhance the flavor, and various spices such as salt, pepper, sweet paprika, thyme, and oregano. These will intensify the taste of the meat. We slice the onion into thin rings and the garlic clove into slices or chop it, then add them to the marinade. The meat, whether chicken, pork, or beef, will infuse with these flavors. We let the meat marinate in the fridge for 3-4 hours, but for an even more pronounced taste, we can leave it overnight.
Once the marinating is complete, we take the meat out and place it on a cutting board. Using kitchen scissors, we lightly score the meat so that the juices penetrate better inside. In a large pan, we heat olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, we add the meat. We let it brown on one side for a few minutes until it changes color, then turn it to the other side, being careful not to cook it completely, but just to give it a start of browning.
After the meat has taken on a golden hue, we add enough water to cover the meat and let it simmer on low heat. It is important to maintain a steady heat to allow the meat to cook evenly. We ensure that we add a little water along the way if we notice it reducing too much. This process will take about 40-60 minutes, depending on the type of meat used.
Finally, when the meat is tender and well cooked, we add the sour cream, stirring gently to incorporate it. If you are a flavor lover, now is the perfect time to add a few minced garlic cloves, which will enhance the sauce's flavor. We let everything simmer for a few minutes to combine the flavors.
To serve, I recommend preparing a side of green beans or pods and some sautéed mushrooms, which will add texture and a delicious contrast. A fresh green salad, drizzled with lemon juice, will perfectly complement this dish. This recipe will not only satisfy your taste buds but will transform any meal into a true culinary celebration.
