To prepare a delicious and savory dessert, we start by making the dough, a fantastic mixture that will delight any meal. The first step is to take the butter or margarine at room temperature and mix it with sugar and vanilla essence. We use a mixer to obtain a creamy, homogeneous composition that harmoniously blends flavors and textures. This is the moment to add the eggs, one by one, ensuring that each egg is well incorporated before adding the next. Freshly grated lemon zest will provide a touch of freshness and an inviting fragrance, so don’t hesitate to use organic lemons for an authentic taste.

Once we have achieved a well-homogenized composition, we move on to the dry ingredients. We dissolve the baking powder in a little warm water to activate its leavening power, then gradually add it to the flour mixture. It is important to start incorporating the flour carefully, gently mixing with a spatula, so as not to form lumps. Here, you have the opportunity to add other flavors, such as cinnamon or nutmeg, if you want to enhance the flavor.

Once the dough is ready, it’s time to shape it into the desired forms. We attach the special mold to the meat grinder, which will give the ladyfingers a uniform and beautiful texture. We pass the dough through the grinder, breaking it into pieces of about 7 cm. We place the pieces of dough on a tray lined with parchment paper, making sure to leave enough space between them, as they will expand during baking.

We preheat the oven to a medium temperature, ideal for baking ladyfingers. Once the oven is heated, we place the tray inside and let the ladyfingers bake for 30-35 minutes. It is essential to check them periodically to ensure they brown evenly. When they become golden and firm to the touch, we can take them out of the oven and let them cool on a rack, where their aroma will fill the entire room. Enjoy these ladyfingers with a cup of tea or coffee, and savor every bite!

Ingredients: 250 g of butter or margarine, 250 g of powdered sugar, 2 eggs, vanilla, lemon zest, a packet of baking powder, flour as needed. I made the recipe double and it took about 700-800 g.
