To prepare delicious rolls with flavorful filling, start by creaming the butter with freshly chopped parsley and crushed garlic. The resulting mixture should have a creamy and soft consistency, so make sure the butter is at room temperature before you begin. Once you have a homogeneous mass, let the mixture sit at room temperature to allow the flavors to develop.

If you have a bread machine, the process becomes much simpler. Start by adding the ingredients in the specified order: put in the oil, then the warm milk in which you have dissolved the sugar and salt. Add the basil and oregano, then the sifted flour to avoid lumps. Finally, add the dry yeast. If you prefer to use fresh yeast, soften it with the sugar from the recipe and dissolve it in a bit of warm milk. Set the machine to the dough program and let it work its magic.

If you don’t have a bread machine, don’t worry! You can achieve the same delicious result manually. Cream the yeast with the sugar, add half of the warm milk and a few tablespoons of flour, mixing well, then let the mixture sit covered to rise for about 15 minutes. Once the yeast starts to bubble, add the remaining ingredients and knead an elastic dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.

After you have obtained the dough, place it in a bowl greased with a little oil, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume, which should take about an hour. Once risen, turn the dough out onto a floured work surface and divide it into equal pieces, depending on the desired size of the rolls.

Shape each portion into a ball between your palms and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between them. Using a sharp blade, make a light cut in the middle of each roll without cutting all the way through. Now, add a teaspoon of the butter, parsley, and garlic filling into each cut. After you have filled them, let the rolls rise again for 10-15 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and place a dish of water at the bottom of the oven to create steam, which will help develop a crispy crust. Beat an egg yolk with a little milk and brush the rolls with this mixture to give them a beautiful, shiny color. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Serve the rolls warm to enjoy the delicious aroma of the filling, and if you manage to have any left after the meal, you can keep them in a plastic bag to stay fresh. These rolls are ideal to be served alongside a warm soup or as a side dish to various meals, truly a culinary delight.
