Total preparation time: 1 hour
Baking time: 30 minutes
Number of servings: 12

Ingredients:

For the base:
- 6 eggs
- 1.5 cups of sugar
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- 1 handful of raisins
- 3-4 tablespoons of cognac
- 1 teaspoon of rum essence
- 200 g flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 packet of chocolate cream from Dr. Oetker
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa
- 1 handful of chopped nuts
- Zest of one orange

For the cream:
- 1 packet of chocolate pudding
- 500 ml milk
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons of butter

For the whipped cream:
- 200 ml liquid cream
- 1 packet of whipping powder

For soaking:
- 1 cup of coffee
- A few squares of chocolate
- Rum essence
- Cognac to taste

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven: Start by preheating the oven to 180°C (350°F). Make sure you have a cake pan (about 24 cm) lined with parchment paper and greased with butter.

2. Prepare the base:
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the sugar and vanilla sugar, continuing to mix until you achieve a glossy meringue.
- In another bowl, beat the yolks with the oil, cognac, rum essence, and orange zest. Combine the yolk mixture with the egg white meringue, gently folding with a spatula.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, cocoa, and chocolate cream, then gradually add them to the egg mixture. Carefully incorporate the chopped nuts and raisins.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

3. Prepare the cream:
- In a saucepan, bring 500 ml of milk to a boil. When it reaches boiling point, add the packet of chocolate pudding mixed with a cup of cold milk. Continue to stir until thickened.
- Add the broken chocolate pieces and butter, stirring until completely melted. Allow to cool.

4. Prepare the whipped cream:
- Whip the liquid cream with the whipping powder until firm. You can add powdered sugar to taste if desired.

5. Assemble the cake:
- Once the base has cooled, cut it in half. Soak each layer with coffee, rum essence, and cognac.
- Spread a layer of chocolate cream on the first layer, then cover with the second layer. Spread whipped cream on top and sides, smoothing it with a spatula.

6. Decoration:
- You can decorate the cake with grated chocolate, nuts, or seasonal fruits. A suggestion would be to add some edible flowers for an elegant touch.

Serving:
The Martisor Cake is served cold, cut into generous slices. It is perfect alongside a cup of coffee or tea, ideal for celebrating spring with loved ones. This quick and simple dessert will bring smiles and joy to any table!
