Pork steak with garlic
Garlic pork roast is a savory dish, perfect for a family meal or a special occasion. This simple yet delicious recipe transforms fresh pork into an unforgettable dish with rich flavors and a juicy texture. Here’s how to prepare it step by step for a perfect result.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
Total time: 1 hour
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 kg pork (ideally from the loin or shoulder, with a bit of fat)
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 5-6 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of oil (for a more intense flavor, you can use lard)
- 200 ml water
Step 1: Preparing the meat
Make sure to choose fresh, quality pork, preferably from a local butcher. Cut the meat into pieces of about 5 cm to ensure even cooking and juiciness. Season each piece with salt and pepper. Feel free to use your favorite spices, such as sweet paprika or herbs for extra flavor.
Step 2: Searing the meat
In a large pot, add the two tablespoons of oil and heat it over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the seasoned meat pieces, being careful not to overcrowd the pot to allow for even browning. Sear the meat for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides.
Step 3: Boiling the meat
Once the meat is well browned, add a cup of water to the pot and cover with a lid. Let it simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes. This step will help tenderize the meat and infuse the flavors. Check occasionally to ensure it doesn’t run out of liquid.
Step 4: Finishing the dish
When the water has reduced almost completely, remove the lid from the pot and let the meat fry in its fat, turning occasionally. Add the crushed garlic, mixing well to combine the flavors. Continue to fry for 10-15 minutes until the meat becomes crispy and browned.
Step 5: Serving
The garlic pork roast is served hot, alongside creamy mashed potatoes and a fresh salad or pickles, which add a touch of freshness. If you want to impress, you can drizzle the roast with a bit of soy sauce or balsamic vinegar before serving for a contrast of flavors.
Possible variations:
- You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots or onions, along with the meat during cooking to enrich the dish.
- For a spicy touch, add chili flakes or hot paprika during the seasoning of the meat.
We guarantee that this garlic pork roast will quickly become a family favorite! Enjoy your meal!
