Bread in the Tray with Whole Wheat Flour
We start by preparing the necessary ingredients to create a delicious bread, full of flavors and textures. In a large diameter bowl, whole wheat flour is combined with freshly sifted white flour. This flour mixture will provide the bread not only with a rich taste but also with a pleasant consistency. It is essential to mix the two types of flour well so that they combine evenly.
After you have made this mixture, add the salt and yeast, being careful not to mix them directly, as salt can deactivate the yeast. The butter is added at this moment, helping to improve the texture of the dough. Water will be the key ingredient that you will add gradually as you start kneading the dough. This process must be done carefully, so as not to add too much water at once.
Kneading will be done by hand, and as you add water, you will notice how the ingredients begin to come together and the flour in the bowl is completely incorporated. Once you have obtained a homogeneous dough mass, transfer it to a lightly floured work surface. Here, continue kneading with your hands for about 5 minutes. It is important not to over-knead, as this can affect the structure of the dough.
Once the dough has been properly kneaded, shape it into a ball and cover it with a bowl. Let it rest for 1 hour to allow the yeast to act. Meanwhile, grease a bread pan with oil, with internal dimensions of 24 x 11.5 cm.
After the dough has risen, place it again on a floured work surface. Shape it so that it fits the pan, gently kneading it to give it the desired consistency. Once the dough is shaped, place it in the prepared pan. Cover it again with a kitchen towel and let it rise for an hour in a warm place, away from drafts.
During this time, preheat the oven to 230 degrees Celsius. When the dough has risen, sprinkle a little flour on its surface and score it as desired. This step will not only help with even baking but will also give the bread a nice appearance. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, on the middle rack of the oven, until it becomes golden brown and crispy.
After you have taken the bread out of the oven, let it cool on a rack. This stage is crucial as it allows steam to escape, keeping the bread fluffy inside. Enjoy the freshly baked bread with butter, cheese, or any other favorite ingredients. This recipe is not just a culinary process but an experience that brings together flavors and aromas, transforming a simple meal into a true feast.
