To prepare a delicious and flavorful recipe, we start by finely chopping all the ingredients. Personally, I prefer to use a food processor, as it does all the work quickly and evenly, saving precious time. In a heated pan, we add a little oil and begin by sautéing the finely chopped onion. The aroma of the sautéed onion will fill the kitchen and set the stage for the other ingredients.

Once the onion becomes transparent and starts to soften, we add the bell pepper, diced, and the hot pepper, which will provide a touch of spiciness. We mix well to combine the flavors. The next step is to add the dried plums, finely chopped, which will add a sweet-sour contrast to the sauce, followed by the fresh tomatoes, also finely chopped. We season with salt, pepper, and a teaspoon of sweet paprika, which will enhance the color and flavor of the dish.

In another container, we take care of the meat. If you are using chicken breast, cut it into thin strips and fry it in a little hot oil for 2-3 minutes until it becomes lightly browned. This step is essential as it helps seal in the juices of the meat and creates a pleasant texture. Once the meat is ready, we add it to the vegetable sauce, mixing well to combine all the flavors.

After adding the meat, we pour 2 cups of water over the mixture in the pan. We let everything simmer over medium heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the water reduces and the result becomes a thicker, flavorful sauce.

In the meantime, we take care of the rice. We boil the rice in salted water, following the instructions on the package. Once the rice is cooked, we drain it and rinse it under cold running water to stop the cooking. We put it back in the pot and add a little oil, mixing well to prevent the grains from sticking.
