Ingredients needed:

For the base:
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 50 g milk chocolate with crushed nuts
- 100 g butter
- 5 large eggs
- A pinch of salt
- 100 g walnut kernels (finely ground)
- 100 g flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon coffee powder
- 1 teaspoon raisins (optional)
- 1 tablespoon rum
- 2 tablespoons cognac
- 100 g sugar

For the cream:
- 500 ml milk
- 1 packet chocolate cream for cakes
- 1 packet vanilla cream for cakes
- Chocolate or whipped cream for decoration

Preparation:

1. Hydrating the raisins: Start by hydrating the raisins. Place them in a small bowl and pour the rum and cognac over them. Let them soak for 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors. This step will add an elegant touch to the cake.

2. Preparing the base: Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a bowl, melt the butter and both types of chocolate (dark and milk) over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Let it cool slightly.

3. Beating the eggs: In another bowl, beat the 5 eggs with sugar and a pinch of salt until fluffy. Add the chocolate and butter mixture, continuing to mix.

4. Incorporating the dry ingredients: Sift the flour, baking powder, and coffee powder over the egg and chocolate mixture. Add the walnut kernels and, if desired, the hydrated raisins. Gently mix until combined.

5. Baking the base: Pour the mixture into a cake pan (approximately 24 cm in diameter), greased with butter and dusted with flour. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely.

6. Preparing the cream: In a saucepan, bring 500 ml of milk to a boil. Once it starts boiling, add the packet of chocolate cream and the packet of vanilla cream, stirring continuously. Let it boil for a few minutes, then pour the cream into a bowl and let it cool.

7. Assembling the cake: Once the base has completely cooled, cut it into two or three layers if you want a multi-layered cake. Spread the chocolate cream between the layers and on top of the cake. Final decoration can include grated chocolate or whipped cream, adding an elegant touch.

Serving and variations:

This nut and chocolate cake can be served plain or alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Another delicious variation is to replace the walnut kernels with almonds or pistachios, adding a crunchy note. You can also infuse the chocolate cream with orange essence for a more sophisticated taste.

Regardless of the occasion, this nut and chocolate cake will surely impress everyone. Enjoy each slice and share the joy of cooking with loved ones!
