Step 1: Preparing the base
Start by preheating the oven to 180°C (moderate heat). In a large bowl, combine the water with the sugar, whisking until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then, add the cocoa, oil, and salt. Continue mixing and add the essences of rum and lemon.
Once you have a homogeneous mixture, add the flour and baking powder. Mix well until there are no lumps. At this point, you can add the ground nuts for an extra special taste.
