To prepare a delicious cake, we will start with the necessary ingredients for the layers. It is essential to ensure that all ingredients are at room temperature to facilitate the dough's homogenization. In a large bowl, we combine 500 g of flour with 200 g of soft butter, 100 g of sugar, one egg, a teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. We mix these ingredients with a spatula or by hand until we obtain a uniform and elastic dough. Kneading the dough is a crucial step, as proper kneading will give the layers a pleasant texture.

After the dough is well kneaded, we divide it into three equal parts and form balls. Each ball is rolled out with a rolling pin on a surface sprinkled with a little flour, thus obtaining three thin layers. It is important that the layers are approximately equal in size to bake evenly. We place the first layer in a buttered and floured baking tray. We will use a tray measuring approximately 30x20 cm to achieve a suitably sized cake.

For the filling, we use 300 g of fruit jam, preferably apricot or peach, but we can also opt for other flavors, such as raspberry or blackberry. We spread half of the jam evenly over the first layer. Then, we mix 100 g of sugar with 150 g of ground nuts, which we sprinkle over the jam, providing a pleasant contrast of textures. We cover it with the second layer, after which we repeat the process, spreading the remaining jam and filling with the rest of the nut and sugar mixture.

Finally, we place the third layer on top. It is recommended to press it lightly on the edges to prevent the filling from leaking during baking. We let the cake sit for 30 minutes so that the layers blend well with the filling. We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake the cake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the surface is golden brown and the layers are evenly cooked. After baking, we let the cake cool in the tray, then we can slice and serve it with pleasure! This layered cake with jam filling is perfect for any occasion, bringing a touch of sweetness to our days.
