Brownie
To prepare this delicious brownie with meringue and cocoa glaze, we will start with the preparation of the base, which will serve as the perfect foundation for this decadent dessert. In a large bowl, we put the softened butter and sugar. Using a mixer, we cream the two ingredients until we obtain a fluffy and homogeneous mixture. It is essential that the butter is at room temperature so that it incorporates easily into the mixture.
After obtaining a creamy mass, we add the cocoa and continue mixing. The cocoa will give the brownie an intense flavor and a deep color. The next step is to incorporate the egg yolks, one at a time, ensuring that each yolk is well mixed into the composition before adding the next. This will contribute to a fine and moist texture of the base.
After integrating the yolks, we pour in the milk, mixing continuously. This will add moisture and make the base softer. Then, we sift the flour together with the baking powder and add them to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing with a spatula until there are no traces of flour left.
The resulting composition is poured into a well-greased pan with margarine and dusted with flour or onto a baking sheet, and we place it in the preheated oven. We bake the base for 25-30 minutes at medium heat until it becomes firm to the touch and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
In the meantime, we take care of the meringue. In a clean bowl, we beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt, using a mixer, until we obtain a light and fluffy foam. Gradually, we add the sugar, continuing to mix until the meringue becomes glossy and has a firm consistency.
When the base is baked, we take it out of the oven and evenly spread the meringue on top, ensuring that we cover the entire surface. Then, we return it to the oven for another 10 minutes, until the meringue becomes slightly golden and crispy on the surface.
Finally, we take care of the glaze. In a saucepan, we put the milk, sugar, and cocoa over medium heat, stirring constantly. When the mixture reaches boiling point, we take it off the heat and add the butter or margarine, stirring until completely melted.
Once the brownie has cooled slightly, we cut it into squares and pour the glaze over it, ensuring it soaks well. We let the dessert cool completely and then serve it cold, enjoying every bite of this delight! Enjoy your meal!
