A dough for sweet bread is kneaded using quality ingredients: flour, fresh yeast, lukewarm milk, melted butter, eggs, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Start by dissolving the yeast in the lukewarm milk, adding a tablespoon of sugar from the total amount to activate the yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. In a large bowl, combine the flour with the salt and the remaining sugar, making a well in the center where you will add the yeast mixture, beaten eggs, and melted butter. Begin mixing the ingredients with a spatula or your hands until the dough starts to come together.

Once you have a homogeneous mixture, transfer the dough to a well-floured work surface and knead it for 10-15 minutes until it becomes elastic and non-sticky. Then, form a ball, place it in a bowl greased with a little oil, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

After the dough has risen, divide it into 2 or 3 equal parts, depending on the desired size of the sweet bread. Take each part and roll it out with a rolling pin on a work surface, forming a rectangle about 1 cm thick. You can add various fillings, such as ground walnuts mixed with sugar, cocoa, or raisins, to give the sweet bread a special flavor. Evenly sprinkle the filling over the surface of the rolled-out dough, then carefully roll it up, forming a tight log.

After rolling all the parts, place the logs in loaf pans lined with parchment paper or greased with butter. Let them rise again for about 30-40 minutes until they increase in volume. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Once the sweet breads have risen, brush them with a mixture of beaten egg and milk for a beautifully golden crust. Bake them for 40-50 minutes, or until they are golden and pass the toothpick test. Once they are done, let them cool slightly before removing them from the pans. Enjoy them warm, alongside a cup of tea or milk for a perfect treat moment!
