Mixed Salad
To prepare a fresh and delicious salad, we start by carefully selecting the ingredients. First, we take a crisp green lettuce, preferably romaine or iceberg, which will be washed well under cold running water to remove any impurities. After washing the lettuce, we cut it into suitable pieces so that it is easy to eat.
We continue with the cucumber, an essential ingredient that brings freshness and texture. We wash it, peel it if you prefer, and then cut it into thin rounds or cubes, depending on personal preferences. The pepper, usually a red or yellow bell pepper, is seeded and cut into strips or cubes. This will add not only a pleasant taste but also a vibrant color to our salad.
In another bowl, we carefully wash the valerian salad, which brings a delicate taste and a slightly spicy note. After rinsing the leaves well, we gently dry them using a kitchen towel or a salad spinner, to ensure that the salad won’t be watery. Then, all the prepared ingredients come together in a large bowl.
We add the valerian salad as a base, on top of which we place the cut vegetables: green lettuce, cucumber, and pepper. Then, we add a handful of olives, which will bring a salty taste and a Mediterranean flavor. Lightly toasted pine nuts in a pan, which add a delicious crunch, are next on the list. We don’t forget the chopped nuts, which enrich the salad with healthy fats and a special taste.
We season the salad with salt to taste and generously drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, which will provide a rich flavor and a silky texture. We carefully mix everything, ensuring that each ingredient is well combined, and the flavors blend harmoniously.
For an extra touch of freshness, you can also add a few drops of lemon juice, which will enhance the taste of the vegetables and provide a pleasant contrast with the olive oil.
The salad is now ready to be served. It is perfect as an appetizer or as a side dish to various dishes. Enjoy your meal!
