In a generous pot, bring water to a boil, making sure to let it reach the boiling point. It is important to have all the ingredients prepared before starting the process, so that we can gradually add the contents of the 'Mashed Beans' packet to the boiling water, continuously mixing with a whisk. This step is essential to avoid lumps and to achieve a fine and creamy texture. Once the beans are homogenized, it's time to season them. Personally, I chose to add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, which gives the dish a richer consistency and a pleasant taste.

In a separate pan, heat the oil, preferably sunflower oil, and add the red onion and garlic, both finely chopped. Sauté over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes translucent and takes on a golden hue. This stage not only enhances the aroma but also adds a subtle dimension to the final dish. Once the onion and garlic are ready, add the tomato paste or broth, depending on personal preference. The spices will be added now, and I recommend a mix of salt, pepper, and maybe even a pinch of sweet paprika to intensify the flavor.

After the sauce has simmered for a few minutes, it's time to add the finely chopped greens, such as parsley or dill, which will provide a touch of freshness. The mashed beans and onion sauce combine harmoniously, and the resulting dish can be served warm or cold, depending on preference. This is not just a delicious meal, but also an excellent side dish for meats, bringing a pleasant contrast between the crunchy textures of the meat and the creaminess of the beans.

It is a versatile dish that can be adapted based on available ingredients and culinary preferences, making it ideal for everyday meals or special occasions. Regardless of how you choose to serve it, it will surely be appreciated by everyone who tastes it.
