To prepare a delicious and filling dish with Caccavella pasta, start by boiling a liter of water in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt and wait for it to reach a rolling boil. When the water is boiling, add the Caccavella pasta and let it cook for about 15 minutes, until it becomes al dente, meaning it is cooked but still has a firm texture. After boiling, remove the pasta with a slotted spoon and place it on a plate to cool.

In a deep pan, heat a splash of olive oil. Then, add the diced smoked meat, allowing it to release its flavors for a few minutes. Once the smoked meat starts to brown, add the finely chopped onion and let it become slightly transparent. Continue with the sliced mushrooms, diced chicken breast, bell pepper, and chopped tomatoes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Let the mixture sauté for a few minutes, until all the ingredients are well combined and cooked. Don’t forget to season with salt and pepper to taste. When the mixture is ready, remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle finely chopped dill to add a fresh note to the dish.

Now it’s time to fill each pasta shell with the delicious filling. Use a spoon to ensure each shell is well filled. After filling all the pasta, crack three quail eggs on top of each shell to bind the filling and provide an attractive appearance. Arrange all the filled shells in a deeper baking dish, with the filling facing up.

Before placing the dish in the oven, prepare a mixture of water, adding just below the edge of the pasta, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of dehydrated vegetables, and a splash of olive oil. This combination will help cook the eggs evenly and add extra flavor. Place the dish in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and let it bake until the quail eggs on top are well done and have a golden color.

When ready, remove the dish from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve with love, alongside a fresh salad. This recipe is perfect for family meals or special occasions, having a beautiful appearance and wonderful taste.
