To prepare a delicious banana bread, it is essential to carefully follow each step of the recipe to achieve a final result that surprises with its enticing flavors. We start by dissolving the yeast in 50 ml of lukewarm milk. It is important that the milk temperature is optimal to stimulate the yeast's activity without killing it. We add 1-2 tablespoons of honey once the yeast has completely dissolved. After mixing well, we add 40 g of flour, mix again, and let the resulting sourdough rise for 30 minutes in a warm place, away from drafts.

During this time, we prepare the banana cream. We peel 2-3 ripe bananas and blend them together with 100 g of sugar and the juice of half a lemon until we obtain a smooth, homogeneous paste. The fresh aroma of lemon will perfectly contrast with the sweetness of the bananas, bringing a note of freshness.

After the sourdough has risen, we melt 100 g of butter and let it cool slightly. In a large bowl, we will combine the sourdough with 300 g of flour, the banana cream obtained earlier, one beaten egg, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. We gently mix the ingredients, ensuring everything is well incorporated. Finally, we add the melted butter, continuing to knead the dough until it becomes elastic and smooth. This process may take a few minutes, but it is essential for developing the gluten in the flour, which will provide the structure of the bread.

After kneading the dough, we let it rise in a bowl covered with a clean towel for about 2 hours, or until it doubles in volume. Once it has risen, we prepare to shape the bread. We line a loaf pan with baking paper to prevent sticking. On a floured surface, we stretch the dough with our hands, forming a rectangle. We carefully roll it up, like a traditional loaf, and place it in the prepared pan.

We let the bread rise again until it reaches the edge of the pan. Then, we place it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius, where it will bake for 45 minutes. The aroma that will fill the kitchen during baking will be irresistible. Once the bread is baked, we let it cool slightly before removing it from the mold.
