Homemade Bun Burger
The recipe for delicious rolls will turn into a real feast when we add meat and potatoes. Start by preparing the meat: if you choose beef, make sure to chop it very finely in a blender or food processor. From this minced meat, form four burgers of approximately 100 g each, making sure to give them a uniform shape. If you prefer chicken breast, cut it into four equal pieces and lightly pound each piece with a meat mallet to achieve an even thickness that will cook better.
While you prepare the meat, peel the potatoes and cut them into thick pieces, depending on your preference. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees Celsius (or gas mark 8). In a pot, put water with a little salt and bring it to a boil. Add the potatoes and let them boil for about 10 minutes; the exact time will depend on the thickness of the pieces, but make sure they hold their shape and do not become too soft.
Meanwhile, prepare a flavorful sauce. In a blender, combine fresh parsley, sage, oregano, peeled garlic, salt, pepper, and three tablespoons of olive oil. Blend everything until you obtain a smooth and aromatic paste. After the potatoes have boiled, drain them well, but make sure they do not crumble. In a bowl, mix the potatoes with the herb paste, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Transfer the potato mixture to a baking dish lined with aluminum foil to prevent sticking. Now it’s time to season the meat. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the beef or chicken burgers. Heat a skillet, add a tablespoon of olive oil, and when the oil is hot, carefully place the burgers in the pan. Fry them over high heat for about 2 minutes on each side until they develop a nice crust and brown.
After the potatoes have been in the oven for 15-20 minutes, add the burgers on top and let everything bake for another 15 minutes. In another pan, slice the onions thinly and sauté them in butter over medium heat, stirring constantly until they become soft and turn a light golden color. These caramelized onions will add a sweet and flavorful note to your dish. Finally, serve the warm rolls alongside the flavored potatoes and juicy burgers, and your meals will surely be filled with joy and flavor. Bon appétit!
