To prepare a delicious recipe for sweet-filled rolls, we start by making the dough. In a large bowl, we mix 500g of flour with 6 egg yolks, 60g of sugar, 400ml of milk, fresh yeast, and a pinch of salt. It is important to ensure that all ingredients are at room temperature to achieve a uniform dough. After mixing the ingredients well, we begin to knead the dough by hand, making sure to incorporate all the flour. The dough should become elastic and homogeneous. Once we finish kneading, we cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 35-40 minutes, until it doubles in volume.

After the dough has risen, we transfer it to a floured work surface and roll it out into a large sheet, about 1 cm thick. In another bowl, we melt 300g of butter and, using a spatula, spread it evenly over the entire surface of the dough sheet. Then, we sprinkle 300g of sugar, vanilla sugar, and ground walnuts, ensuring that the filling is evenly distributed. After finishing with the filling, we fold the sheet in half and start rolling it tightly, forming two rolls. We cut these rolls into slices of 4-5 cm thick, making sure the slices are of the same size for even baking.

We place the slices of roll in a round baking dish lined with flour, ensuring that they do not touch each other, to allow for good expansion during proofing. If you have a 25/35 cm baking dish, you can use it to accommodate the extra slices. We let the rolls proof for 20-30 minutes until they increase in volume. During this time, we preheat the oven to a medium temperature. Once the rolls have risen, we place them in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

While the rolls are baking, in a pot, we boil 400ml of milk with 200g of sugar, stirring occasionally to ensure that the sugar dissolves completely. When the rolls are almost done, we take the dish out of the oven and carefully pour the hot milk over the rolls, ensuring that each slice is well soaked. We put the dish back in the oven for another 5 minutes, allowing the rolls to absorb all the flavor. After the time is up, we take the rolls out of the oven and, for a perfect finishing touch, generously dust them with vanilla sugar. The rolls will be fluffy, fragrant, and will fill the entire house with an inviting aroma. Serve them warm or at room temperature and enjoy every bite!
