Filling

To prepare the delicious filling for this dessert, start by cutting the apples into small cubes and immediately drizzle them with lemon juice. This step is essential as it helps prevent the apples from oxidizing, thus keeping them a beautiful color and fresh taste. Once you have finished cutting the apples, add the sugar and mix well, then set the mixture aside for a few minutes. This time will allow the apples to release their juice, which will enhance the flavor of the filling. In a saucepan, place the apples over low heat, adding the pudding powder, cinnamon, raisins, and nuts. Stir constantly, allowing the mixture to boil a few times until it becomes creamy and thickens slightly. Once you have achieved the desired consistency, let the filling cool while you wait.

Base

In a large bowl, mix the butter with the sugar, making sure to achieve a homogeneous mixture, but not more than that. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition until each egg is fully incorporated. Now is the time to add the sifted flour along with the baking powder, mixing slowly to avoid forming lumps. Finally, pour in the milk and chosen essence, continuing to mix until you obtain a mixture slightly thicker than that for a cake base. Prepare a tray (40 x 26 cm) lined with baking paper, then pour the obtained dough into the tray, leveling it evenly. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake the base until it is almost cooked and lightly browned on the surface.

Topping

For the topping, mix the dry ingredients well with the melted butter until you achieve a mixture with a texture similar to crumbs. At the end of baking the bases, remove the tray from the oven and immediately pour the apple mixture over the surface of the bases, leveling it evenly. Then sprinkle the crumb topping over the filling, ensuring it is distributed evenly. Place the tray back in the oven, but reduce the temperature to 170 degrees Celsius. Continue baking until the base is fully cooked and the topping becomes golden and crispy. Once finished, let the dessert cool in the tray.

When serving, portion the dessert and, if desired, sprinkle powdered vanilla sugar on top for an elegant appearance and even sweeter taste. This dessert is perfect both plain and with ice cream or whipped cream alongside, making each portion a true delicacy.
