Philadelphia Flan and Condensed Milk
To prepare a delicious and creamy flan, we start by gathering our essential ingredients: fresh eggs, sugar, condensed milk, milk, and Philadelphia cheese. These ingredients combine perfectly to create a refined dessert, ideal for any occasion.
In a large bowl, we put the eggs together with the sugar. Using an electric mixer, we whisk well until we obtain a fluffy and airy mixture. It is important that the eggs are well incorporated to ensure an airy texture for our flan. Once we have a consistent foam, we add the condensed milk, continuing to mix, then we add the milk. This combination will make our flan incredibly creamy.
After the milk has perfectly integrated into the mixture, we proceed to add the Philadelphia cheese. It should be at room temperature for easier incorporation. We mix everything with a spatula, being careful not to leave lumps, until the mixture becomes homogeneous and smooth.
Now we take care of the caramel. In a pan, we put a few tablespoons of sugar and let them melt over medium heat, stirring gently until we obtain a golden and shiny caramel. It is essential to be careful not to burn it, as burnt caramel can give an unpleasant taste to our flan. Once the sugar has turned into caramel, we carefully pour a few tablespoons into the pan, evenly covering the bottom. Then, with a pastry brush, we thoroughly coat the sides of the pan with caramel, ensuring that our flan will have a delicious glaze.
After preparing the caramel, we carefully pour the flan mixture into the pan. It is important not to open the oven door during baking, so we make sure everything is ready to be placed in the oven. We bake the flan at 160 degrees Celsius, using the bain-marie method, for 40 minutes. This will help maintain a fine and creamy texture.
After the baking time has elapsed, we take the pan out of the oven and let it cool slightly. Then, with great care, we invert the flan onto a platter. It is essential to do this patiently, so as not to destroy the shape of the flan. We let it cool completely, then refrigerate it for a few hours.
We serve the flan plain, but for an extra touch of flavor, we can add a spoonful of strawberry or raspberry jam on top. This combination will provide a delicious contrast between the sweetness of the fruits and the creaminess of the flan. Enjoy this refined dessert, perfect for impressing family and friends!
