Donuts
To prepare delicious and fluffy donuts, we start by bringing the main ingredients to optimal temperature. Margarine and milk are placed in a suitable container and put in the microwave. It is important to heat them together for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, to ensure that the margarine melts completely and the milk becomes warm. After obtaining a homogeneous mixture, we let this mixture cool slightly to avoid affecting the yeast we will add later.
Once the mixture has cooled, we add our favorite spices, such as vanilla or cinnamon, and sugar, which will add sweetness to our donuts. We mix well to ensure that the sugar dissolves completely in the warm liquid. Next, we add the eggs, one at a time, mixing vigorously to incorporate them perfectly into the mixture.
After obtaining a homogeneous mass, it is time to add the yeast, which will be activated by the heat of the mixture. Next comes the flour, which we will add gradually, mixing with a spatula or with our hands until we obtain a dough that is supple and does not stick to our hands. If necessary, we can adjust the amount of flour to achieve the desired consistency. Once we have the ideal dough, we cover it with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 60-90 minutes, or until it doubles in volume.
After the dough has risen, we turn it out onto a floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin until we obtain a sheet about 1 cm thick. Using a glass, we cut circles from the dough, and with a smaller glass, we cut out the center of each donut. We place the donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes, covered with a towel.
In a deep pan, we heat the frying oil. When the oil is well heated, we fry the donuts in batches, being careful not to overcrowd them. We turn them with a spatula to achieve an even browning on all sides. Once the donuts are golden and fluffy, we remove them to an absorbent towel to remove excess oil.
To add a touch of elegance, we can prepare a glaze from melted chocolate, which we pour over the donuts once they have cooled slightly. These delicious donuts will surely become the stars of the meal, and their aroma will spread joy throughout the house. Enjoy!
