To prepare this delicious dessert, we start by making the dough. In a large bowl, we mix the flour with the sugar, ensuring all ingredients are well integrated. Baking powder is essential for adding volume and a fluffy texture, so we add it carefully. The vanilla aroma will add a touch of refinement, so do not hesitate to use quality vanilla essence. We continue by adding the eggs and cold butter cut into small pieces. It is important for the butter to be cold, as this will help us achieve a crumbly dough, perfect for the base of the cake.

After adding all the ingredients, we mix with a spatula or with our hands, but we do not overdo it. The goal is to obtain a homogeneous dough, but with a crumbly texture that will provide a pleasant contrast to the creamy ricotta filling. In another bowl, we prepare the filling by mixing ricotta with sugar. It is important to use quality ricotta, as this will influence the final taste. In addition, we add chocolate cut into large pieces, which will partially melt during baking, providing an intense chocolate flavor.

The next step is to take care of the baking pan. We choose a pan with a diameter of 28 cm and line it with parchment paper to ensure that the cake will come out easily after baking. We start by spreading half of the crumbly dough at the base of the pan, ensuring it is evenly distributed. On top of this, we spread a generous layer of Nutella, which will add a creamy and rich note. Then, we place the ricotta mixture, distributing it evenly over the entire surface.

To finish the preparation, we add the rest of the dough, but we do not spread it, instead we break it into small pieces, like crumbs, and place them on top of the filling. This will create a delicious and crunchy crust. Now, the cake is ready to be placed in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. We bake it until it becomes golden, which will take about 30-40 minutes, but it is good to keep an eye on it to ensure it does not burn.

After the cake has cooled, we can portion and serve it. It is a simple sweet, but with a complex taste, due to the combination of ricotta, chocolate, and Nutella. If you like, you can add a little Strega liqueur or other preferred flavors to the ricotta mixture, to create a unique dessert that will impress everyone. Enjoy it with a cup of coffee or tea for a perfect culinary experience!
