Pea dish is a classic recipe, full of flavor, that can be prepared quickly and with accessible ingredients. This recipe is perfect for a light dinner, but also as a side dish for different types of meat. Here are the detailed steps to achieve a perfect result.

Ingredients:
- 800 g peas (it's best to use frozen peas, such as those from Bonduelle)
- 1 medium carrot
- 2 small onions
- 5 tablespoons of tomato juice
- Fresh dill, plenty
- Salt, to taste
- Olive oil or vegetable oil

Preparation of the pea dish:

1. Preparing the ingredients: Wash the peas well under cold running water, even if they are frozen. Peel the carrot and onions. Chop the onions finely and dice the carrot into small cubes. These details are important as they will contribute to even cooking.

2. Sautéing the vegetables: In a large pot, add 2-3 tablespoons of oil and heat it over medium heat. Add the onion and carrot, sautéing them for about 5-7 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and the carrot starts to soften. This is the stage where the base flavors of the dish develop.

3. Adding the peas: Once the onion and carrot are ready, add the washed peas. Mix the ingredients well and add enough water to cover the peas (about 300-400 ml, depending on the amount of peas).

4. Boiling: Put a lid on the pot and let the dish simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes. Check occasionally to ensure the peas do not stick to the bottom of the pot. If necessary, you can add a little water.

5. Seasoning: After 30 minutes, add the tomato juice and season with salt to taste. If you want a hint of sweetness, you can add a tablespoon of sugar, but generally, the natural taste of the peas is sufficient.

6. Finishing the dish: Once you have added the tomato juice, let the dish cook for another 5-10 minutes for the flavors to blend. Finally, turn off the heat and add freshly chopped dill. Dill adds a fresh aroma and an unmistakable taste, so don't hesitate to use a generous amount.

7. Serving: The pea dish can be served as is, simple, or as a side dish alongside chicken or veal. If you choose to use meat, you can add it to the pot after sautéing the onion to give it a more intense flavor and enrich the dish.

Variation suggestion: You can experiment by adding diced potatoes or a few slices of bell pepper for extra color and texture. Additionally, the pea dish can be enriched with some spices like pepper, sweet paprika, or even a pinch of chili for a spicier taste.

This pea dish recipe is not only simple but also versatile, adaptable according to your preferences. By preparing it, you will bring to your table a healthy, tasty, and nutrient-rich dish. Enjoy your meal!
