Buns with Instant Mashed Potatoes
To prepare these delicious fluffy rolls, we start by ensuring we have all the ingredients at hand. Prepare the oil, warm milk, sugar, salt, butter, flour, potato puree, eggs, and yeast. Begin by adding the ingredients to the bread machine in the following order: oil, warm milk in which you have dissolved the sugar and salt, melted and cooled butter, sifted flour mixed with potato puree, eggs, and finally, dry yeast. If you opt for fresh yeast, rub it with the sugar from the recipe and dissolve it in a little warm milk from the total amount. Then, set the bread machine to the dough program.
If you do not have a bread machine, do not worry! You can prepare the dough manually. Rub the yeast with the sugar, then dissolve it in ½ of the warm milk. Incorporate a few tablespoons of flour and let the mixture rise covered until it becomes active. Once the yeast is activated, add it to the sifted flour mixed with potato flakes, eggs, and the rest of the warm milk. Start kneading the dough, gradually adding salt, oil, and finally, the melted and cooled butter. Knead until you obtain a smooth and elastic dough that does not stick to your hands or the bowl. If you feel the dough is too dry, add a little warm water.
Once you have obtained the perfect dough, place it in a bowl greased with a little oil, cover it well with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume. Once the dough has risen, take it out onto the work surface and knead it again a little to let the air out. Divide the dough into equal parts, ensuring the sizes are slightly smaller than a tennis ball. Roll each portion into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
To give them an appetizing look, brush the rolls with a mixture of beaten egg yolk and a little milk and sprinkle your favorite seeds on top. Then, place the tray in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and browned on the outside. Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a rack. These rolls are delicious served warm, but they also taste great cold, making them ideal to be enjoyed with various fillings or simply with butter and jam. Enjoy!
