To prepare a delicious cheese-based dish, I invite you to follow this simple yet flavorful recipe. We start by choosing a quality piece of cheese, such as feta or mozzarella, which will be the star of our dish. Carefully place the cheese in an oven-safe dish, ensuring it is well positioned to benefit evenly from all the flavors.

Over the cheese, sprinkle freshly ground pepper and chili pepper, which will add a touch of spiciness. If you prefer a milder taste, you can adjust the amount of chili or even omit it. We continue with slices of tomato, which you can peel for a smoother texture. Choose well-ripened tomatoes, as they will add a hint of sweetness to the dish.

Then add slices of bell pepper, preferably in various colors: yellow, green, or red, for an appealing visual contrast. This will not only enhance the aesthetic appearance of the dish but also contribute to the complexity of flavors. Sprinkle dried oregano over all the ingredients, as it will bring an unmistakable Mediterranean aroma.

After adding all the ingredients, generously drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, being careful not to completely cover the cheese, but letting the ingredients breathe. Cover the dish with aluminum foil or baking paper, ensuring it does not touch the food directly, to allow for steaming and even cooking.

Preheat the oven to high heat, then place the dish inside and bake for about 15 minutes. This time will allow the cheese to melt gently, and the flavors to combine harmoniously. After 15 minutes, carefully remove the dish from the oven and gently lift the foil or paper, being cautious of the hot steam that may escape. Let the dish cool for a few minutes to stabilize.

If you want to add a crunchy note on top, you can place it under the oven grill for a few minutes, being careful not to leave it too long so it doesn't burn.
