For mushroom lovers, this breaded mushroom recipe is an excellent choice for a savory appetizer or a delicious side dish. With a crispy exterior and a soft interior, breaded mushrooms are not only tasty but also easy to prepare. Let’s discover step by step how to achieve a perfect result!

Ingredients:

- 8-10 large mushrooms (champignon or portobello)
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 150 g breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste

1. Selecting the mushrooms: Choose large, healthy mushrooms without spots or signs of damage. Champignon mushrooms are ideal, but if you want a stronger flavor, opt for portobello mushrooms.

2. Preparing the mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove dirt. Avoid washing them under running water as they absorb excess water. Remove the stems, and depending on your preference, you can keep them for use in other dishes (e.g., stews or soups).

3. Seasoning: Sprinkle the mushrooms with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them sit for about 30 minutes to allow the seasonings to penetrate.

4. Preparing for breading: Prepare 3 deep bowls. In the first bowl, place the flour, in the second bowl beat the eggs with a pinch of salt, and in the third bowl add the breadcrumbs. This breading technique will create a crispy and delicious crust.

5. Breading the mushrooms: Take each mushroom, first dip it in flour, ensuring it is evenly coated. Then dip it in the beaten eggs, letting the excess drip off, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Make sure the breadcrumbs stick well to the mushroom.

6. Frying: In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. The oil should be hot enough to fry the mushrooms but not so hot that it burns them. Place the mushrooms in the skillet, leaving space between them to avoid sticking. Fry them for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy.

7. Serving: Remove the breaded mushrooms onto a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve them hot, alongside a garlic yogurt sauce or a flavorful mayonnaise. A fresh arugula salad with cherry tomatoes will perfectly complement this dish.

8. Variations: You can experiment with different seasonings in the breadcrumbs, such as grated parmesan, garlic powder, or herbs (oregano, basil). Also, for a vegetarian option, replace the eggs with a mixture of water and flour or almond milk.

These breaded mushrooms are a wonderful choice for a quick snack or to impress guests at a dinner. Now that you know all the secrets, all that’s left is to put on your apron and enjoy a delicious meal!
