Pasta/Pizza - Breakfast * brunch by Eufrosina H. - Recipia

Saturday morning, the perfect day to indulge in a delicious breakfast-brunch! You may have had a tough week and need a moment of relaxation to delight your taste buds. What could be more enjoyable than preparing a pizza with prosciutto and garlic mushrooms, alongside delicious cheese grissini, grapes, and pomegranate? It's a simple recipe but with sophisticated flavors that will turn your morning into a culinary feast.

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Baking time: 15 minutes
Total time: 35 minutes
Number of servings: 4

Ingredients for pizza:

- 1 package of pizza dough (we recommend Bella's dough)
- 200 g tomato sauce
- 150 g prosciutto (or crudo ham)
- 200 g fresh mushrooms (preferably champignon)
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 100 g grated cheese (mozzarella, parmesan, or a mix of cheeses to your liking)
- Olive oil for sautéing
- Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients for grissini:

- 100 g grissini
- 100 g cheese (cottage cheese or goat cheese)
- 150 g grapes (red or white)
- 1 pomegranate (seeds)

Preparing the pizza:

1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by cleaning the mushrooms. Slice them thinly for even cooking. Also, peel the garlic cloves and crush them with a knife or use a garlic press.

2. Cooking the mushrooms: In a pan, add a little olive oil and heat it over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden. Then, add the crushed garlic cloves and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes. Here, the aroma of garlic will begin to reveal itself, and the mushrooms will absorb all the flavors. Once done, turn off the heat and let the mushrooms cool.

3. Preparing the pizza base: Roll out the pizza dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, according to the instructions on the package. Make sure the dough is evenly spread for a perfectly baked pizza.

4. Assembling the pizza: On the rolled-out dough, spread the tomato sauce evenly. Then, place the slices of prosciutto over the entire surface of the pizza. Add the sautéed mushrooms with garlic, being careful to distribute them evenly. Finally, sprinkle the grated cheese over all the ingredients.

5. Baking the pizza: Preheat the oven to 220°C (or 200°C in fan mode). Place the pizza in the oven and let it bake for 15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese melts and browns slightly.

Preparing the grissini:

1. Assembling the grissini: While the pizza is baking, prepare the grissini. Place the grissini on a platter and add the cheese on top. You can also arrange the grapes and pomegranate seeds alongside the grissini to create a colorful and appetizing platter.

Serving:

Once the pizza is ready, take it out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve the pizza warm, alongside the cheese grissini and a glass of fresh orange juice or lemon water for an extra refreshing touch.

Chef's tip:

If you enjoy a stronger garlic flavor, you can add a few raw garlic cloves, finely chopped, on top of the pizza before baking. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as feta or gorgonzola, for a more complex taste.

Possible variations:

- Substitute prosciutto with ham, bacon, or even vegetables for a vegetarian option.
- Add olives or chili peppers for an extra flavor kick.
- If you want a healthier pizza, use whole wheat or rye flour dough.

Nutritional benefits:

This prosciutto and mushroom pizza is a balanced option, providing protein from the prosciutto and cheese, fiber from the mushrooms, and a mix of vitamins from the vegetables. The pizza can contain about 350-400 calories per serving (depending on the ingredients used), making it a relatively light choice for brunch.

Frequently asked questions:

3. How can I adapt the recipe to be gluten-free?
You can use a gluten-free flour blend to make the pizza dough or choose a pre-made gluten-free pizza dough available in stores.
