To prepare this delicious trout dish, we start by ensuring that we have all the necessary ingredients at hand. It is important to choose a fresh, quality trout that will provide a wonderful taste to the final dish. If we opt for fillets, we make sure they are boneless and well cleaned.

In a bowl, we combine ingredients such as crushed garlic, fresh herbs (like dill, parsley, or thyme), freshly squeezed lemon, salt, and pepper, to create a fragrant mixture. These flavors will penetrate the fish, bringing it a perfect taste. If we wish, we can also add a few thin slices of tomatoes or onions, which will bake alongside the trout, giving it an attractive visual appearance.

After preparing the mixture, we take care of filling the trout or the fillets. If we chose to use a whole trout, we gently open its belly and add the prepared mixture, being careful to distribute it evenly. If we opted for fillets, we can spread this mixture on the inner side, then place them in a baking dish.

Before putting the trout in the oven, we prepare a tray lined with baking paper or a ceramic dish to prevent the fish from sticking. We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and place the trout inside. It is recommended to bake it for about 25-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets or the whole fish.

To achieve a golden crust and rich flavor, from time to time, we open the oven and drizzle the trout with melted butter and cream or yogurt. This will add a creamy flavor and keep the fish moist, preventing it from drying out.

When the trout is ready, we take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. It can be garnished with lemon slices and fresh parsley leaves for an extra touch of color and flavor. This dish pairs wonderfully with a fresh salad or boiled potatoes, turning every meal into a true feast of taste. Enjoy your meal!

 Ingredients: Chopped onion, parsley, sardines in oil, bread soaked in milk and squeezed, melted butter, egg, sour cream (or yogurt), mushrooms, nutmeg, salt, pepper, dill (this was not in the recipe, but I added it to my taste), lemon juice, and oil at the bottom of the dish in which they were baked (these were not in the original recipe either, I invented them =))
