Meat - Eggs with Bacon by Alis D. - Recipia
The filling for this recipe is a delicious and simple mixture to prepare. Start by mashing the boiled eggs with a fork until you achieve a smooth consistency. Add the mayonnaise and mix well to combine the two ingredients. It is important to season the mixture with salt and pepper, according to personal taste, to add extra flavor. Once the filling is ready, set it aside and prepare to make the dough.

Regarding the dough, there are two methods of preparation. If you have a bread machine, place the ingredients in the following order: melted butter, lukewarm water in which you have dissolved the sugar and salt, sifted flour, eggs, and finally the dry yeast. If you opt for fresh yeast, rub it with the sugar from the recipe and dissolve it in a little lukewarm water from the indicated amount. Select the dough program and let the machine do its magic.

If you do not have a bread machine, don't worry! Start by rubbing the yeast with the sugar, then dissolve it with about half of the warm water and add a few tablespoons of flour. Let the mixture covered rise for a few minutes. Once the yeast is activated, pour it over the other ingredients and knead an elastic and non-sticky dough. Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil, cover it well, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume.

After the dough has risen, take it out onto the work surface, divide it into two equal parts, and roll each part into a rectangular sheet about 2-3 mm thick. Cut each sheet into 8 rectangular pieces. On each piece, place a slice of bacon, then wrap the dough, folding it lengthwise. Make sure the edges are well sealed by pressing with your hand or with a fork. Then roll each piece into a coil. Press the ends together to form a circle.

Cut the dough at intervals of 2-3 cm around the circumference of the circle using scissors or a sharp knife. Transfer the circle to a baking tray lined with parchment paper. In the empty center of the circle, place 1-2 teaspoons of the previously prepared filling, add a tablespoon of mayonnaise on top, and sprinkle with parsley or dried dill for extra flavor. Let the dough rise for 30-40 minutes in a warm place until it doubles in volume.

After it has risen, gently brush the dough with a lightly beaten egg yolk. Place the tray in the preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the dough is golden and well baked. For extra flavor, in the last 5 minutes of baking, you can sprinkle grated cheese on top, allowing the oven to melt the cheese.

After it has cooled slightly, remove the dish onto a rack and let it cool. These delights are excellent served warm, but feel free to try them cold to enjoy their flavors and texture. This dish will surely be a hit at any meal!
