To prepare a delicious drink based on caramelized milk, we start by carefully measuring the amount of milk, using a standard 250 ml cup. This milk will form the base of our drink, bringing a creamy and sweet note. We set the milk aside to use later in the recipe, ensuring it is cold to contrast with the heat of the caramelized sugar.

In a heavy-bottomed pot, which is ideal for caramelization, we add three teaspoons of sugar. This will be the main ingredient that will give us that golden color and unmistakable flavor. We turn the heat to medium and focus on the sugar, stirring it occasionally to ensure it melts evenly. The desired color is that of amber, a warm and attractive tone that will transform our drink into a true delight.

Once the sugar has reached this hue, it is time to turn off the flame and, with great care, pour the cold milk into the pot. Here, the sugar will react quickly, hardening and forming a crunchy crust. It is essential to be cautious, as the vapor can be intense, and the caramelized sugar can splatter.

After the milk has been added, we put the pot back on the heat, on low intensity, and let the mixture simmer gently. During this stage, the sugar will gradually melt into the milk, creating a homogeneous and rich combination. It is important to stir occasionally with a spoon to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot and to achieve a uniform consistency.

When the sugar has completely melted, we take the pot off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Then, we use a sieve or strainer to separate any sugar crystals that have not melted, thus obtaining a fine drink. We pour the resulting liquid into cups, preparing to serve this delicious beverage.

This caramelized drink pairs perfectly with a hearty breakfast, such as fluffy pancakes, flavored muffins, or even a fresh croissant. The flavors blend harmoniously, and each sip will bring a smile to the faces of those who savor it. Don’t forget to enjoy the cooking process and experiment with different combinations or toppings, such as a splash of vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon, to further personalize this wonderful drink.
