Lolllipops
The potatoes are peeled and medium-sized ones are selected to ensure even cooking and a pleasant presentation. After peeling, the potatoes are washed well and dried with a clean towel. Each potato is wrapped with a slice of bacon, ensuring that the bacon completely covers the surface of the potato. This will not only provide a delicious taste but also a crispy texture once cooked.
To secure the bacon on the potatoes, a skewer is used, which should be inserted into the potato in such a way that it holds the bacon tightly. It is important that the skewer is inserted lengthwise to prevent the bacon from coming off during cooking. Once all the potatoes have been prepared, we can get ready to cook them.
We preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, we prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper. We place the potato lollipops on the tray, making sure to leave enough space between them to allow for even cooking. Optionally, we can add spices such as pepper, garlic powder, or herbs to enhance the flavor.
After the oven has reached the desired temperature, we place the tray inside and let the lollipops bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the bacon becomes crispy and the potatoes are well cooked. It is advisable to check on them from time to time, gently turning them to ensure they brown evenly.
Once they are ready, we take the tray out of the oven and let the lollipops cool slightly before serving. These bacon potato lollipops are perfect as an appetizer or as a side dish for a festive meal. They can be served with a yogurt or mayonnaise dip to add a touch of freshness. The dish is not only tasty but also fun, making it ideal for parties or gatherings with friends. Enjoy every bite and relish the delicious combination of soft potatoes and crispy bacon!
