In this recipe, we can enjoy a combination of the sweetness of strawberries and the creaminess of mascarpone, all in a simple and accessible way. Ideal for a festive meal, an anniversary, or simply to treat your loved ones, this strawberry tiramisu is sure to become a favorite!

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Chilling time: 2 hours
Total time: 2 hours and 30 minutes
Servings: 8

Necessary ingredients:
- 500 g fresh strawberries (about 400 g for the sauce and 100 g for decoration)
- 1 package of ladyfingers (approximately 200 g)
- 500 g mascarpone
- 250 g sugar
- 5 eggs (preferably fresh)
- A shot of limoncello (approximately 50 ml)
- A pinch of salt

Step 1: Preparing the strawberry sauce
We start by washing the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water, then drying them with a kitchen towel. From the 500 g of strawberries, we set aside a few for decoration (about 100 g) and cut them in half or slices.

The remaining strawberries are chopped into smaller pieces and placed in a blender or mixer. We add 150 g of sugar and blend until we achieve a smooth mixture, but with a slightly thick texture, similar to a salsa.

We transfer the mixture to a pot and place it over low heat. Let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. After 10 minutes of simmering, we add the shot of limoncello, which will add a wonderful flavor and a touch of freshness. If the sauce becomes too thick, feel free to add a shot of water to thin it out. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, we let it cool.

Step 2: Preparing the mascarpone cream
While the sauce is cooling, we can prepare the cream. We separate the egg whites from the yolks. In a bowl, we beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until we achieve a firm and glossy foam.

In another bowl, we mix the egg yolks with 100 g of sugar using a mixer until they become creamy and pale yellow. We add the mascarpone to the yolk mixture and continue mixing until fully combined.

Now, using a spatula or spoon, we gently fold the beaten egg whites into the mascarpone cream, being careful to mix with light, upward motions to keep the air in our cream. The final result should be a fluffy and airy cream, perfect for layering with the ladyfingers.

Step 3: Assembling the tiramisu
Once the strawberry sauce and mascarpone cream are ready, we can start assembling. In a bowl or on a platter, we dip the ladyfingers in the cooled strawberry sauce, being careful not to leave them too long to avoid excessive sogginess.

We begin by placing a first layer of ladyfingers at the bottom of the dish, followed by a generous layer of mascarpone cream. If desired, you can also add some pieces of strawberries between the layers for extra flavor and freshness.

We repeat this process to create multiple layers, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream. Finally, we decorate with the remaining strawberries, cut in half or slices, for an attractive appearance. This strawberry tiramisu should be refrigerated for at least 2 hours to set and allow the flavors to meld.

Step 4: Serving
After the chilling time has elapsed, we take the tiramisu out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will make it easier to cut and give it a more pleasant texture.

For an extra touch of elegance, you can sprinkle some cocoa powder or grated chocolate on top, adding a delicious contrast to the sweetness of the strawberries. This strawberry tiramisu can be served alongside a glass of sweet wine or a refreshing lemonade, perfect for enhancing the culinary experience.

Helpful tips:
- Use fresh, seasonal strawberries for a more intense flavor. If you wish, you can also try other berries, such as blueberries or raspberries.
- Make sure the mascarpone is at room temperature before using it for better integration into the cream.
- If you prefer a tangier tiramisu, you can add lemon juice to the mascarpone cream.
