Brownies are a classic dessert that combines rich chocolate with a moist texture, making them perfect for any time of the day. This simple brownie recipe will make you fall in love with every bite! Follow the steps below to achieve a perfect result.
Ingredients:
- 200 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
- 100 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 120 g flour
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 100 g nuts (optional)
Step 1: Preparing the chocolate
Start by breaking the chocolate into small pieces and placing it in a heatproof bowl. Add the diced butter. Put the bowl over a double boiler, making sure the water in the pot below does not touch the bottom of the bowl. Allow the chocolate and butter to melt slowly, stirring occasionally to achieve a smooth mixture. Once melted, remove the bowl from heat and let it cool slightly.
Practical tips: Choose high-quality chocolate, as its flavor will significantly influence the taste of the brownies. If you prefer a more intense flavor, you can opt for chocolate with a higher cocoa content.
Step 2: Beating the eggs
In another bowl, beat the eggs together with the sugar and vanilla extract using an electric mixer or a whisk. Mix until the mixture becomes pale and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes. This step is essential for achieving an airy texture.
Step 3: Combining the ingredients
Add the cooled chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and mix well with a spatula until everything is evenly integrated. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Sift this mixture over the chocolate and egg mixture, stirring gently just until the ingredients are well combined. If you want to add nuts, now is the time to incorporate them.
Step 4: Baking the brownies
Preheat the oven to 180°C (or 160°C for a fan oven). Line a 20x20 cm baking pan with parchment paper and pour the batter into the pan, leveling it evenly. Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Check if they are baked by doing the toothpick test: insert a toothpick in the center of the brownies, and if it comes out clean, they are ready!
Step 5: Cooling and serving
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan, then cut them into squares. These brownies are delicious served plain, but you can add a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
Unique variation: You can try enhancing the recipe by adding white chocolate chunks to the batter for a flavor contrast, or you can replace the nuts with hazelnuts for a different flavor profile.
These delicious brownies are perfect for a quick snack, a simple dessert for dinner, or even to impress friends at a party. Enjoy every bite!
