1. Grate the pumpkin and together with the sugar, put it in a pan with oil (4-5 tablespoons) and sauté them together. It is important to choose a fresh pumpkin, preferably one from the varieties that have a sweetish taste, such as pie pumpkin. At this stage, the pumpkin will release juices that, together with the sugar, will create a delicious caramelization. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. Sautéing the pumpkin should take about 10-15 minutes until it becomes soft and slightly transparent.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the butter with the margarine. Make sure both ingredients are at room temperature for better combination. Use a spatula or a mixer on low speed to achieve a smooth cream. This mixture will add a rich texture and intense flavor to your dish. Once the butter and margarine are well incorporated, you can add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition to obtain a fine and airy composition.

3. Next, incorporate the dry ingredients, such as flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. It is recommended to sift the flour to avoid lumps and to achieve a fluffier dough. Gradually add the sautéed pumpkin mixture, mixing gently to avoid destroying the aeration of the dough.

4. After all the ingredients are well mixed, you can also add some spices, such as cinnamon or nutmeg, to enhance the flavor. These pair perfectly with pumpkin and will give your dish a touch of warmth and comfort.

5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it with butter and sprinkling flour. Pour the batter into the tray, ensuring it is evenly distributed. You can also add some chopped nuts or almonds on top for extra texture and flavor.

6. Bake the dish in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. After baking, let it cool in the tray for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a rack to cool completely.

This pumpkin dessert will surely become a seasonal favorite, perfect to be served alongside a cup of tea or coffee, bringing a touch of elegance and flavor to any meal.
