The walnut cream cake is a delicious and savory dessert, perfect for concluding a festive meal or for pampering the family on ordinary days. This simple recipe for a quick dessert will surely become your favorite, thanks to the combination of rich flavors and creamy textures. Let's begin our culinary journey!

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 25 minutes
Total time: 55 minutes
Number of servings: 12

Ingredients:

For the cake base:
- 4 large eggs
- 150 g sugar
- 120 g flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 50 ml hot water

For the walnut cream:
- 200 g ground walnuts
- 150 g sugar
- 200 ml milk
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 50 g butter
- 1 large apple, grated

For decoration:
- Whole walnuts or grated chocolate

Instructions:

1. We start by preparing the cake base. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture becomes frothy and doubles in volume. It is important to use fresh eggs, as they help aerate the cake layers.

2. Add the sifted flour along with the baking powder and salt, gently mixing with a spatula to maintain the air in the mixture. Then add the hot water, mixing again. The mixture should be homogeneous and slightly more fluid than a regular cake batter.

3. Pour the batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake base to cool completely before cutting.

4. Meanwhile, prepare the walnut cream. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, milk, and cocoa. Place the mixture over medium heat and let it boil, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Once the mixture comes to a boil, add the ground walnuts.

5. Continue to cook the cream on low heat for about 10 minutes, until it thickens slightly. Add the butter and grated apple, mixing well to incorporate the flavors.

6. Once the cream has cooled slightly, spread it evenly over the cooled cake base. You can divide the cream into two equal parts, apply the first part, then add another layer of the cut cake, followed by the remaining cream. This will create a delicious layered effect.

7. For an elegant finish, decorate the cake with whole walnuts or grated chocolate. Allow the cake to rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving, so the flavors meld perfectly.

Serving suggestion: Cut the cake into squares and serve it alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a caramel sauce for a contrast of textures and flavors.

This walnut cream cake is not only a delicious dessert but also an excellent way to use simple ingredients you have on hand. By experimenting with different types of nuts or adding some spices like cinnamon or vanilla, you can customize the recipe to your taste. Happy cooking!
