Savory Muffins
To prepare the most delicious muffins, start by gathering all the necessary ingredients. You will need 250 grams of flour, one teaspoon of salt, and one teaspoon of baking powder. These are the base of your recipe. Make sure the ingredients are at room temperature, so take them out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you start. This way, you will achieve a more even and fluffy batter.
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the salt and baking powder. Use a spatula or a whisk to ensure that the baking powder is evenly distributed in the flour, which will help the muffins rise beautifully during baking. If you want to add extra flavor, now is the time to incorporate some diced pressed ham, finely chopped. This will give a special taste to your muffins, turning them into a hearty snack.
In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients. You can use 2 eggs, 150 milliliters of milk, and 100 milliliters of oil. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Then, pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and gently mix with a spatula. Be careful not to overmix; it is important for the dough to remain slightly chunky to achieve fluffy and delicate muffins.
Once you have a well-homogenized dough, prepare the muffin tray. Place the special papers in each cavity of the tray, making sure they are well secured. Use a spoon or an ice cream scoop to fill each paper with dough, leaving a little space at the top, as the muffins will rise during baking.
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Once the oven is ready, place the muffin tray in to bake. Let them bake for 15-20 minutes, until they become golden and fluffy. Check them with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the muffins are ready. After taking them out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes in the tray, then transfer them to a rack to cool completely. These muffins are perfect for a quick breakfast or as a snack between meals, and they will surely be appreciated by the whole family!
