Sandwich with Sheep Cheese, Tomato and Egg
To prepare a delicious fried egg sandwich recipe, we will start with the necessary ingredients. You will need: 4 slices of bread (preferably whole grain or rye for a richer taste), 100 g of cheese (brie, cheddar, or any cheese you prefer), 1 green onion, 1 tomato, 2 fresh eggs, 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 cloves of garlic, salt and pepper to taste, finely chopped chives, and a little cayenne pepper for an extra flavor boost.
Start by preparing all the ingredients: slice the cheese thinly, cut the green onion into rounds, and slice the tomato. Make sure all the ingredients are within reach, as this will make the cooking process more efficient and enjoyable.
In a cast iron or stainless steel pan, add the butter and olive oil, then heat them on low heat. It’s important not to let them burn, so turn off the heat at the right moment. This mixture of butter and oil will give a splendid flavor to your sandwich.
Take two slices of bread and arrange on each a slice of cheese, slices of green onion, and tomato. Season with salt and pepper to taste. These flavors will combine splendidly during frying. Place the two prepared slices in the pan with butter and oil, then put the other two slices of bread on top.
Set the heat to low and let the sandwich fry slowly. This method will allow the bread to become crispy without burning. When you feel it’s time to flip the sandwich, do so carefully. Move it to one side of the pan and add the two eggs in the free space. Fry them to your preference, either hard or soft.
Before removing the sandwich from the pan, take the garlic cloves and rub them on both sides of the bread, giving it an intense and aromatic flavor. After letting the sandwich fry for another 4-5 seconds on each side, it’s time to take it out and slice it. Arrange each portion with a fried egg on top.
