To prepare a delicious dough that will bring a touch of flavor every day, we can either use a bread machine or knead by hand. We start by preparing the essential ingredients. We take an egg, beat it well, then mix it with fresh milk and a pinch of salt to give flavor to the dough. It is important that the milk is at room temperature to activate the yeast.

In a separate bowl, we combine the flour, sugar, and yeast. If you choose to use fresh yeast, it is advisable to dissolve a small part of the yeast in the amount of milk to allow it to activate properly. This will help the dough rise beautifully and evenly.

If you are using a bread machine, first add the liquids - the beaten egg mixed with milk and salt, then add the mixture of flour, sugar, and yeast. Start the normal program of the machine and let the dough rest for about an hour in a warm place, where it will ferment and acquire an airy texture.

After the resting time has expired, take the dough out and divide it into two strands of about 60 cm each. This will be the base for creating a braided bread that not only looks good but also tastes amazing. Braid the two strands carefully, ensuring that each movement is gentle so as not to spoil the aeration of the dough.

Once you have finished braiding, place the bread on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Let it rise again for 30 minutes to allow it to become even fluffier. Before placing it in the oven, brush the surface with a beaten egg, which will give a golden and appetizing crust.

Now you are ready to bake! Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius and place the tray with the dough inside. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown and has a tempting aroma that will fill the entire room. After taking the bread out of the oven, let it cool on a wire rack.
