To prepare a delicious and fluffy bread, we will start with the essential ingredients. You will need 500 g of wheat flour, 300 ml of lukewarm water, 25 g of fresh yeast, 10 g of salt, and 10 g of sugar. Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature to achieve the best results.

The first step is to dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water. Add the sugar to the water and stir gently, then add the crumbled yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This step is essential to activate the yeast, that is, to give it the chance to start the fermentation process.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, sift the flour and add the salt. It is important to add the salt over the flour, not directly into the yeast mixture, so as not to inhibit its activity. Once the yeast is activated, pour the water and yeast mixture over the flour with salt. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to mix the ingredients until you get a homogeneous dough. At first, the dough will be sticky, but don't worry, this is a good sign.

After you have obtained a dough, cover the bowl with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place, away from drafts, for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During this time, the dough will triple in volume, becoming airy and fluffy. It is fascinating to watch the dough rise, and the fresh smell of bread begins to spread throughout the room.

After the rising time has passed, sprinkle a little flour on the work surface to prevent the dough from sticking. Carefully turn the dough onto the floured surface. Here, shape it gently with your hands, being careful to keep the part that was on top during rising so that it remains on the surface and in the baking tray. Place the dough in a floured baking tray, preferably a loaf pan, and let it rise again for 30 minutes.

While the dough is rising again, preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Once the dough has risen again, it is time to put it in the oven. Bake the bread for 30 minutes, or until it becomes golden and crispy on the outside. When it's ready, take the tray out of the oven and let the bread cool on a rack. Its inviting aroma and fluffy texture will delight you with every slice you cut. Enjoy the freshly baked bread with butter, cheese, or anything else you like!
