Pork Ribs with Honey and Plum Brandy
Ribs are a delicious dish, ideal for enjoying with family or at a festive meal. We start by cutting the ribs into appropriately sized pieces so that they cook evenly. Then, we season each piece with salt, pepper, and a little Delikat to enhance the flavors. This step is essential as the spices will penetrate the meat and make it tastier.
In a deep frying pan, we heat 100 ml of oil. It is important to ensure that the oil is well heated to achieve a nicely browned crust on the ribs. We fry the ribs on both sides until they become golden and crispy. This process not only improves the texture but also adds a special flavor to our dish.
Meanwhile, we prepare a delicious mixture of 2 teaspoons of bee honey and 50 ml of pálinka. We mix well until the honey completely dissolves in the drink, and the sweet aroma combines with the strong scent of pálinka. This mixture will add an extra layer of flavor complexity to the ribs. After the ribs are fried, we pour this mixture over them, followed by 150 ml of white wine. The wine will not only help tenderize the meat but will also contribute a pleasant aromatic note.
We then add sliced garlic, which will infuse the dish with its unmistakable aroma. We continue by pouring water until the meat is well covered. We cover the pot with a lid and let the mixture simmer on low heat. It is important to monitor the dish to ensure that the liquid gradually reduces and the ribs cook in their own juices.
During the boiling process, if we notice that the liquid is reducing too quickly and the meat is not well cooked, we can add water to prevent burning. At the end of cooking, we taste the sauce and, if necessary, adjust the salt.
To serve this delicious dish, we recommend a side of mashed potatoes, which will pair perfectly with the rich sauce. Additionally, a salad of fresh tomatoes or pickles will add a pleasant contrast and complete the meal. This dish is not only filling but also full of flavors that blend tradition and the joy of cooking. Enjoy your meal!
