Stuffed peppers, without rice
To prepare a delicious bacon recipe, we start by preheating the oven to a temperature of 225 degrees Celsius. This will ensure even cooking and a crispy crust at the end. In the meantime, we take care of the bacon. We take a few slices of fresh, high-quality bacon and cut them into thin strips. It is important that the slices are uniform so that they fry evenly. After cutting the bacon, we place it in a heated pan over medium heat and fry it until it becomes golden and crispy, making sure to turn it occasionally for even frying.
Once the bacon is cooked, we remove it with a spatula and place it on paper towels to drain excess fat. This step is essential to achieve a crispy texture and to prevent the dish from becoming too greasy. While the bacon drains, we can take care of the next ingredients. We take a handful of fresh vegetables, such as bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms, which we chop into cubes or slices, depending on our preferences.
In a large bowl, we will mix all the ingredients. We add the cooled bacon, the chopped vegetables, and for extra flavor, we can also add some spices, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, or herbs like oregano or basil. At the same time, it’s time to include some grated cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella, which will add creaminess and a delicious taste to our dish. We mix everything well so that the flavors blend perfectly.
After obtaining a homogeneous mixture, we transfer the mixture to a baking dish, leveling it out for even baking. We place the dish in the preheated oven and let it bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the surface becomes golden and crispy. The aroma that will spread throughout the kitchen will be irresistible, and the final result will be a savory dish, perfect to be served alongside a fresh salad or as an appetizer during an evening with friends.
