New Steamed Potatoes with Sour Cream and Dill
To prepare a delicious side dish of potatoes with dill, we will start by peeling the potatoes. Choose medium-sized potatoes so they are easy to cut. After peeling them, cut them into quarters or halves, depending on their size. It is important that the pieces are approximately the same size to cook evenly. Once you have finished cutting, place the potatoes in a bowl and add a teaspoon of seasoning, which will add a savory flavor to the dish. Mix well so that each piece of potato is evenly coated.
Now, it's time to prepare the steamer. Fill the reservoir with water, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly. Place the potatoes in the steamer basket and set the timer for 25 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on the type of steamer, so check from time to time to ensure that the potatoes are cooked and soft but not mushy.
In the meantime, take a bunch of fresh dill and chop it finely. The dill will add a fresh aroma and a splash of color to the dish. After the potatoes have boiled, check their consistency with a fork – they should be tender but not too soft.
Once the potatoes are ready, carefully remove them from the steamer and place them in a large bowl. Add a few cubes of butter on top, allowing it to melt gently over the warmth of the potatoes. Once the butter has melted, add the sour cream, which will provide a special creaminess to the dish. Gently mix, being careful not to mash the potatoes but just to combine them with the butter and sour cream until all ingredients are well integrated.
Finally, add the chopped dill and mix gently once more. This aromatic mix will turn the potatoes into a perfect side dish for any meal. Serve them warm alongside your favorite main dish. Enjoy your meal!
