Meat Rolls with Sausage
To prepare a delicious and comforting meal, I chose to make boneless chicken thighs stuffed with roasted bell peppers and sausages, a savory combination that will delight your family's taste buds. We start by deboning the chicken thighs. It is important to have a sharp knife and carefully remove the bones, so you keep the meat whole without shredding it too much. Once you have the boneless thighs, it’s time to gently pound them with a meat mallet to even out their thickness, which will allow for even cooking.
After preparing the meat, sprinkle salt and spices to taste. I prefer a classic combination of pepper, sweet paprika, and a dash of thyme, but you can experiment with your favorite spices. An essential aspect of this recipe is the filling. Place the roasted bell pepper, which you have carefully peeled, on each piece of meat. The pepper adds a touch of sweetness and a crunchy texture, and the combination with the juicy meat is simply irresistible.
For an extra burst of flavor, add the sausages. You can microwave them a bit, but it’s not necessary – you can use them directly, cut into suitable pieces. Place them alongside the peppers on the thighs, then roll the meat with the filling and secure it with toothpicks to maintain its shape during cooking. Make sure to seal the edges well so that the filling doesn’t leak out during frying.
Now, it’s time to cook the thighs. Heat a pan with a little olive oil, or if you prefer, you can opt for grilling to achieve a smoky flavor. Carefully place the thighs in the pan, being careful not to overcrowd them. Place them with the stuffed side down to seal the flavors. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they become golden and crispy. Check if they are cooked inside, and the meat should be tender and juicy.
Serving these stuffed thighs can be done alongside a fresh salad or a side of grilled vegetables, which will perfectly complement this dish. These stuffed chicken thighs are not only a delicious meal but also an opportunity to gather the family around the table, enjoying pleasant moments together. Enjoy your meal!
