To prepare these delicious cookies, we start by gathering all the necessary ingredients. It is essential to ensure that we have everything on hand to make the process as smooth as possible. The basic ingredients include flour, butter, sugar, eggs, and baking powder. Depending on personal preferences, we can add flavors such as vanilla or almond extract to enhance the taste.

In a large bowl, we add the softened butter and sugar, mixing them well with a spatula or mixer until we achieve a creamy mixture. This will be the base of our dough. We continue by incorporating the eggs, mixing until fully integrated. Then, we gradually add the sifted flour together with the baking powder. It is important to mix carefully to avoid developing too much gluten, which could make the cookies tougher.

Once we have a homogeneous dough, we prepare to roll it out. We roll the dough on a floured surface, making sure to achieve a thickness of about 1.5 cm. This is the ideal thickness for achieving tender and well-baked cookies. Using a cookie cutter or knife, we cut the dough into the desired shapes. If we want a more rustic version, we can shape the dough into flat balls by hand, which will add a unique character to our cookies.

We preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius and place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. We bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, until they become slightly golden around the edges. It is important not to leave them too long in the oven, as they are very delicate and can become crumbly. After removing them from the oven, we let the cookies cool on the tray for a few minutes to firm up a bit, then transfer them to a rack to cool completely.

To decorate them, we can use various glazes, depending on personal preferences. I chose to melt chocolate in a double boiler, which I used to glaze some of the cookies. This gives them an appetizing appearance and an intense flavor. The other cookies I left plain to highlight their fragile texture and delicious taste. These cookies are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a party or a sweet snack during the day.
