To prepare a delicious coconut milk, start by gathering the necessary ingredients. You will need 500 ml of water and coconut, which you will weigh carefully. Make sure you have a glass container to combine the coconut with the water. Boil water in a pot, and when it starts to boil, turn off the heat and pour the hot water over the coconut. This process will help extract the flavors and nutrients from the coconut, giving you a milky liquid full of taste.

After pouring the water over the coconut, let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes. This interval is important for the coconut to absorb the water and become softer. After this period, take a cheesecloth and strain the mixture into another container, making sure to squeeze the cheesecloth well to extract all the liquid. The squeezing process is similar to what you would use to wring out clothes, ensuring that no water remains in the coconut.

You will obtain a white, milky liquid that can be used in various recipes. In the meantime, before starting the second round of preparation, put 750 ml of water back on the heat. The squeezed coconut will go back into the first container, and when the water is almost boiling, turn off the heat and pour the water over the coconut. Let the mixture sit again for 10-15 minutes, similar to the first stage. After letting it infuse, repeat the straining and squeezing process.

Thus, you will obtain approximately one liter of coconut milk with a pleasant and more subtle flavor. This milk is not very intense in taste, but it is perfect for various dishes, such as semolina with milk, rice pudding, or vegan biscuit salami. Another interesting aspect is that if you let the milk sit for a few hours, a layer of cream will form on the surface, which can be used to flavor various sweets or cakes. This cream can be mixed back into the milk, giving it a richer texture and taste. Use coconut milk to add an exotic and unique touch to your dishes, turning each recipe into a true delicacy.
