To prepare a delicious apple pie, we will start by making the dough. In a medium bowl, we combine warm water with oil, sugar, and salt. It is essential that the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast without destroying its properties. After mixing the ingredients well, we add the yeast and let the mixture rise for 10-15 minutes. This step is crucial, as the yeast will start to produce bubbles of air, making the dough fluffy and airy.

Once we notice that the yeast has started to ferment, we proceed to add the flour. We begin to incorporate the flour gradually, mixing well with a spatula or with our hands. The goal is to obtain a dough that does not stick to our fingers, similar to bread dough. Although we never weigh the flour, we estimate that we need about 500 grams. Once we achieve the desired consistency, we let the dough rise for 15 minutes, covered with a clean towel, in a warm place.

In the meantime, we can take care of the apple filling. We peel the apples, cut them into cubes or thin slices, as preferred, and sauté them in a pan with a little oil or butter. We add sugar and cinnamon, mixing well to combine the flavors. We let the apples cook until they become slightly soft, but not fully cooked, as they will continue to bake in the oven.

After the dough has risen, we divide it into two equal parts. We roll out the first sheet of dough and place it in a greased baking dish. We bake this sheet at 180 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes to give it a slight crust. Then, we remove the dish from the oven and add the sautéed apple filling, distributing it evenly.

We roll out the second sheet of dough and place it on top of the apples. With a fork, we poke the surface to allow steam to escape during baking. We bake the pie at a moderate heat for about 40-45 minutes until it becomes golden and crispy.

Once the pie is ready, we let it cool slightly. We can dust it with sugar and vanilla sugar for an elegant look and an extra touch of sweetness. Also, if we wish, we can add a lemon glaze on top for a fresh and tangy taste. This apple pie will surely be a delicacy that will delight everyone!
