To prepare a delicious dish with cabbage and minced meat, follow these simple yet flavorful steps. Start by cleaning a medium cabbage, cutting it into fine strips. This cutting will help incorporate the flavors into the dish and ensure a pleasant texture. In a large bowl, mix the chopped cabbage with a tablespoon of salt; this step is essential to help the cabbage soften. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. After this period, squeeze the cabbage with your hands, pressing it well to remove excess juice. This will make the cabbage tastier and help it integrate better into the dish.

In a pot, heat a few tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add a large onion, finely chopped, and sauté it until it becomes translucent, a process that takes about 5-7 minutes. Then, add a large grated carrot and continue to sauté the mixture for another 10 minutes. It is important to stir constantly to avoid browning the vegetables. Once the carrot has softened, add 500 grams of minced meat (pork, beef, or a mix) and fry everything over medium heat. Stir frequently to break the meat into small, evenly distributed pieces. When the meat changes color, remove it from the heat and add a tablespoon of sweet paprika, half a teaspoon of ground cumin, a few peppercorns, two cloves of finely chopped garlic, and a finely chopped chili pepper, depending on your preference.

After mixing the spices well, add the lightly squeezed cabbage to the pot, along with a tablespoon of dried thyme. Stir again to combine all the ingredients. Add at least 2 liters of water to the pot and put it back on the heat, bringing the mixture to a boil. Once it starts boiling, cover the pot with a lid and let it simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

After this time, add 3-4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes. Continue to boil everything for about 20 more minutes or until the cabbage and potatoes are well cooked. Finally, adjust the taste with salt, to your liking. Serve the dish while it is hot, and for an extra touch of flavor, you can add a tablespoon of sour cream to the plate, which will provide a creamy contrast to the intense flavors of the dish. This recipe is perfect for cool days, bringing comfort and warmth in every serving. Enjoy your meal!
