To prepare a puff pastry delight with a filling of brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts, the beginning is essential. Start by taking the puff pastry out of the freezer and letting it thaw at room temperature. When the sheets are completely thawed, carefully unfold them, being careful not to tear them. Use melted butter to brush each sheet, ensuring it is evenly coated.

For the filling, take 3 cups of brown sugar and add 2-3 teaspoons of cinnamon, mixing the composition well. This combination will add a tempting flavor to your dish. Once you have achieved a homogeneous mixture, distribute the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the two sheets of puff pastry brushed with melted butter. Then add raisins and, if desired, a few teaspoons of cherry jam, which will provide a pleasant contrast between sweet and sour. Don’t forget the chopped nuts, which will add texture and a special taste.

After filling the sheets, carefully roll them up, forming a tight log, then cut it into about 6 pieces, considering the size of your sheet. These pieces will become delicious and fluffy in the end. In a separate bowl, mix 150 g of soft butter at room temperature with 2 cups of brown sugar to form a homogeneous paste. Use this mixture to grease the muffin tin, placing a teaspoon in each compartment.

Sprinkle some chopped nuts on top of the butter and sugar to add extra flavor. Carefully place the filled puff pastry pieces in the tray, ensuring they are evenly distributed. It is recommended to use a larger tray, in which to put baking paper, to avoid any accidents in the oven. This trick will prevent the sugar from melting and smoking up the house, as I experienced during my first attempt.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (or 400°F) and let them bake for 30-35 minutes, until they become golden and fragrant. After taking them out of the oven, turn each piece in the cup and let them cool slightly for about 5 minutes. It is preferable to enjoy them warm, to savor the intense aroma and fluffy texture that will melt in your mouth. These treats are ideal to be served as a dessert, but they can also be a perfect snack on a cool afternoon. Enjoy every bite and delight in your delicious recipe!
